The MahaSwamiji of Sri KanchiKamakotiPeetam had cherished a desire to revive Kanchipuram to its pristine glory as a center of learning. The ViswaMahavidyalaya at Kanchi was established with the benign Blessings of Their Holiness PujyasriJayendraSaraswathiSwamiji and PujyasriSankaraVijayendraSaraswathiSwamiji and it attained the status of Deemed University in 1993.
Sri ChandrasekharendraSaraswathiViswaMahavidyalaya, formed under the aegis of Sri KanchiKamakotiPeetam Charitable Trust in 1993, is located in a sprawling complex of 50 acres at Enathur, at a distance of about 4 Kilometres from Kanchipuram.
